This theme follows the sites of particular interest to the vibrant Art Nouveau style in the city's architecture and culture. This is predominantly an architectural theme - though not exclusively. While there are fine examples of the Viennese school of Art Nouveau (Secession), Lemberg/Lwów/L'viv also has a school of its own, described variously as "Hutzul style" and "Ruthenian/Ukrainian Secession," a style characterized by a fusion of the Viennese style with references to rural architecture and folklore of the Carpathian mountains.
