Vul. Doroshenka, 29 – residential building ID: 724
This residential building, part of the street's perimeter housing , was constructed in 1899–1900. It was designed by architect Ivan Levynskyi for Zygmunt Reinhold on the site of a three-story house from 1826 that had been built according to a design by architect Józef Zemler. The design for the adaptation of the wings was executed by architect Filemon Lewytskyi. In 1932, the balconies on the first and second floors were reconstructed. The property is a characteristic example of Lviv residential architecture from the late nineteenth century.
Architecture
The building was constructed in the style of Historicism. It is a three-story brick and plastered structure with a complex layout. The original interior layout was of the enfilade type , but it has since been converted to a sectional arrangement.
The composition of the principal elevation is symmetrical, featuring two side protruded sections. The first floor is rusticated and punctuated by large store windows , while the second and third floors are finished with unplastered yellow brick. At the second-floor level, three balconies project on plasterwork brackets and railings; at the third-floor level, a central balcony is supported by plasterwork brackets and features a wrought iron railing. The second- and third-floor windows feature profiled trimmings, with the second-floor windows being paired. Decorative plasterwork insets are positioned beneath them. The entrance gate is fitted with a wrought iron grille. The building is topped by a profiled cornice decorated with dentils and egg-and-dart ornamentation.
