St. George Cathedral of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church is the main building of the Sviatoiurivska Mountain construction complex and is one of the most dominant features of the Lviv panorama. The cathedral was built over the course of 1744–1761 (by the architects B. Meretyn and K. Fesinger) and was restored in 1905–1911, 1933, 1980 and 1999-2001.
The stadium of the Ukrainian sports society "Sokil-Batko" was located near the old Stryiska toll house, on the
site between the present Stryiska and Kozelnytska streets. It bordered with the exposition complex of the 1894 Regional Exhibition and the Eastern Fair. The stadium was built in 1914, according to the design by
an architect Jan Karasiński. In 1925, according to the design by Yevhen Nahirnyi, the stadium stands were built, at the expense of the "Regional Credit Union." Presently, the
stadium does not exist. Its territory is now part of the Stryiskyi Park.
The Lviv
State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater was built in 1897–1900 under a project designed by
architect Zygmunt Gorgolewski.
The building is erected in historicist style and influenced by the
so-called
Vienna Neo-Renaissance. The monumental theater
building has
occupied a key position in the architectural ensemble of the city's main avenue
created in the late 19th – early 20th century.
