Story

The façade of the three-story colored brick building was decorated with a sculpture of St. Florian, the patron saint of firefighters, sculpted by Petro Viytovych. The building was modelly equipped according to the most modern standards for both the fire brigade and the ambulance station, which was also housed inside. The ambulance station was founded in January 1893 on the initiative of Lviv City Council member Dr. Edward Strojnowski to provide emergency medical care; it was previously located in the City Hall building, while the fire brigade was based at vul. Riznytska 18. The consecration of the new fire brigade building took place on June 22, 1901.
