    The building was constructed in 1877 according to a design by Wincenty Kuźniewicz.

    Story

    The building is one of the oldest surviving structures on the street. It was built in 1877 following a design by Wincenty Kuźniewicz (1846–1902), who arrived in Lviv after participating in the January Uprising of 1863 and studying in Switzerland and France.

    The building currently houses training workshops for the Lviv Technical School of Light Industry .

    Architecture

    This three-story (a fourth story was later added) L-shaped townhouse at vul. Pekarska 9, with a side elevation facing vul. Pavla Rymlyanyna, was his first architectural project in Lviv. The façade is divided by a belt course above the first floor and a cornice between the third floor and the added fourth story. The walls of the first floor are decorated with banded rustication. The second-floor windows are the most richly decorated, featuring Ionic engaged columns and triangular pediments.

    People

    Józef Awin – (1883, Lviv — 1942, Lviv, Yanivsky concentration camp) was an engineer, architect, restorer, photographer, graphic artist, painter and watercolorist, historian and theorist of art, collector. Awin did a charitable project of the school building reconstruction in early 20th c.
    Cecylia Klaften — educator and public figure. The Cecylia Klaften Jewish Vocational School for Women operated in this building from 1920 to 1939.
