Ivan Franko Park – cinema (no longer in operation) ID: 1702

The Park Cinema building, which accommodated 684 seats, was constructed between 1941 and 1944 in the southeastern section of Ivan Franko Park, near Matejka and Krushelnytskoi streets. In the late 1980s, during park renovations, the building was dismantled due to its dilapidated condition. The park territory was separated from the street by a wrought-iron fence.

Story

The cinema building, constructed in 1941–1944, was dismantled in the late 1980s. Over the years, its name remained unchanged. In 1954, a ticket cost 3 karbovantsiv 50 kopiyok.

Architecture

The cinema building had a rectangular plan. The façades were clad in wooden boards painted green (1960s–1980s). The main (western) elevation was symmetrical, featuring a Corinthian portico topped with an undecorated stepped pediment. The main entrance was located here.
