Vul. Lychakivska, 26 – military hospital building ID: 334

The building of the former Fatebenefratelli (Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God) Hospital (1659 – foundation of the Fatebenefratelli monastery; 1687 – reconstruction of the monastery into a hospital, architect Benoit; 1890 – addition of a new wing). The monument is a characteristic example of early Baroque architecture in Lviv. Today, it serves as a military hospital building.

Story

The building occupies a plot at the corner of Lychakivska and Chekhova streets. Constructed of brick and plastered, it features an L-shaped layout elongated from east to west. The main façade is divided into tiers by belt courses and is crowned by a tall stepped gable. On the vul. Lychakivska side, the portal is decorated with a relief depiction of the "Janina" coat of arms. Rectangular windows, some featuring decorative frames, are arranged across the façade.

The interior layout follows a corridor-type plan.

The monument stands as a characteristic example of early Baroque architecture.
