The "Sviatovyd" cinema was established in 1938 inside the House of Community Workers of the City of Lviv. From 1941 to 1944, it operated under the name "Ton."

The French film A Romance with a Card Shark and the American film Alpine Donkeys were announced for September 8, 1939.

In the late 1930s, the cinema suffered from low attendance.
