On September 13, 1896, the first film screening in Lviv took place in the Hausmann Passage at the photo studio of Marcin Appel. The screening lasted several minutes and was presented daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. until October 10, 1896.

On September 13, 1896, in a space on the second floor of the Hausmann Passage, located above the photo studio belonging to Marcin Appel, the first film screening in Lviv was held using a Vitascope — a projector created by Thomas Edison (invented by C. Francis Jenkins and Thomas Armat). The screening lasted several minutes and was presented daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a break between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., accompanied by music played on a graphotone. These film screenings continued until October 10, 1896.
