Vul. Kokorudzy, 9 – Ivanna and Iliya Kokorudz School ID: 967

The building of the former "Ridna Shkola" Ukrainian Girls' Private Gymnasium (vul. Kokorudzy 9) was engineered by Jan Czaczkowski and constructed in the mid-1930s, funded by Illia and Ivanna Kokorudz. The structure is situated within the perimeter block development of the street. In accordance with the educational organization building code of March 11, 1932, the building was required to meet the standards for a four-year gymnasium consisting of four primary classrooms, designed to accommodate 40 boys and 25 girls. The building subsequently became the "Ridna Shkola" Ukrainian Girls' Gymnasium of the Ukrainian Pedagogical Society. Today, the former gymnasium serves as Secondary School No. 5, named after Ivanna and Illia Kokorudz.

Story

The building permit was signed by the city council on October 11, 1933. The design for the gymnasium was completed on June 20, 1933, by engineer and construction advisor Jan Czaczkowski from Drohobych, and was officially approved by the city council on November 9, 1933. The design for the building's sewerage system was executed by architect Yevhen Nahirnyi on October 14, 1933, and approved by the city council on November 27, 1933. Additional construction plans were also drafted by architect Yevhen Nahirnyi in 1934 (approved by the city council on August 16, 1934). The final construction authorization for the building was issued by the city council on August 16, 1934. Founded by Ivanna Kokorudz, the gymnasium building later became the "Ridna Shkola" Ukrainian Girls' Gymnasium of the Ukrainian Pedagogical Society. Today, the former gymnasium serves as Secondary School No. 5, named after Ivanna and Illia Kokorudz.

Architecture

The building was constructed in the Constructivist style. It is a three-story structure featuring a residential semi-basement floor and an attic floor, built of brick reinforced with structural concrete elements. The principal elevation features a symmetrical composition designed without ornamentation, punctuated by a distinct, rhythmic pattern of rectangular windows.
