Pl. Katedralna, 7 – residential building ID: 204

The building occupies a large urban site between pl. Katedralna, Teatralna and Staroievreiska streets. Its construction dates back to the eighteenth-nineteenth centuries, with a reconstruction taking place at the end of the nineteenth century. Overall, the building has retained the stylistic features of Classicism, with later additions of historicist architectural forms. It represents a type of large tenement from the first half of the nineteenth century. Today (2008), it is used as a residential building.

Architecture

The building is three stories tall, built of brick, rendered, rectangular in floor plan, and features an inner courtyard. The principal elevation with an entrance archway faces pl. Katedralna. The façade walls are articulated by pilasters, rusticated at the ground-floor level, topped by wide cornices, and decorated with gables. The windows are rectangular in shape and set within profiled trimmings.

The elevation facing vul. Teatralna is adorned with busts in rounded niches, positioned at the second-floor level.
