Vul. Hlyboka, 4 – residential building ID: 2191
The building is located in the city center within a row of terraced houses. It was constructed in the early twentieth century according to the design of architect Władysław Hertmann for the owner Helena Rysiakowa, with plans approved in September 1907.
Story
The building is located in the central part of the city within a row of terraced houses. It was built at the beginning of the twentieth century based on the design of architect Władysław Hertmann for the owner Helena Rysiakowa. The project was approved in September 1907 (ДАЛО 2/2/2361:12–20). On September 19, 1907, Helena Rysiakowa submitted plans for a three-story building with a basement level to the magistrate for approval and requested a building permit (ДАЛО, p. 4). On September 21, 1908, she requested an occupancy permit from the city council (ДАЛО, p. 8), which was granted on October 31, 1908. On that same date, the magistrate certified the completion of construction (ДАЛО, p. 10). Based on a bill of sale dated March 9, 1909, Eleonora Herdliczkowa (née Majewskich) became the owner of the building (ДАЛО, p. 11).
Architecture
The residential apartment building at vul. Hlyboka 4 was erected in the early twentieth century within the street's terraced housing, designed entirely in the Ornamental Secession style. The building is three stories high with a high basement level, constructed of brick and plastered. The composition of the principal elevation is symmetrical, featuring a centrally located entrance. The first and second floors are separated on the façade by a profiled stringcourse. The entrance portal and its transom window are surrounded by profiled floral ornamentation. The second-floor windows are framed by recessed panels filled with profiled chestnut leaves. Projecting balconies on the second and third floors rest on plasterwork decorated brackets with Secession-style wrought iron railings. The façade is crowned by a profiled cornice, below which is a frieze filled with profiled floral patterns; a parapet with stylized obelisks is situated at the top.People
