Vul. Doroshenka, 6 – residential building ID: 994
This residential building (dating from the 1840s–1850s) is part of the street's perimeter development. In 1893, wings were added according to a design by architect Alfred Kamienobrodzki.
Architecture
Constructed in the Classicist style, it is a three-story, brick, and plastered building, nearly rectangular in plan. The interior layout is of a mixed type.
The principal elevation faces the building line of vul. Doroshenka. The façade is symmetrical, featuring a projecting central section at the level of the second and third floors, emphasized by vertical pilasters featuring capitals decorated with Ionic details. The entrance gate is located in the center of the façade. On the second floor, a balcony spans the entire width of the projecting section, supported by massive plasterwork brackets and enclosed by wrought iron grilles executed in the concise forms of Late Classicism. The first floor has been significantly altered by reconstructions and renovations and is treated as commercial space. The second and third floors are designated for residential use. The second-floor windows are separated by pilasters of the Tuscan order and decorated at the top with archivolts. The third-floor windows have profiled trimmings. The crowning cornice of the building has since been lost.Sources
