Ihor Zhuk

Ihor Zhuk is an art historian and author of scholarly articles and catalogues published in Ukraine, Poland, Austria, Germany, and the United States dedicated primarily to the study of the architecture of Lviv inthe nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He defended his PhD dissertation, "Decorative Detail in the Architecture of the Lviv Secession," in 1989. He curated several historical-architectural exhibitions (in particular, he organized an exhibition on the works of Julian and Alfred Zachariewicz in Krakow and Wroclaw, 1996). In 2010, he published the album-monograph Levynsky’s Lviv: The City and Builder (Kyiv: Hrani-T). He teaches a course on European art history at the Ukrainian Catholic University. Since 2008, he has worked with the Center for Urban History of East Central Europe.
